An Inspirational Side Trip

Spring has finally sprung in the northeast, and everyone here at MCLD is running full speed ahead. It’s all too easy to get consumed with work this time of year… Even easier to forget to take a take a deep breath of fresh air and to reflect on all of the beautiful things that surround us for what seems like only a brief moment here in New England. After an exciting planting discussion with one of our Westport clients this week, Jen Stephens and I took a twenty-minute side-excursion to visit the Parsons Reserve in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. It was a gorgeous, 75 degree day, with brilliant sunshine and blue skies—the kind of day us yankees live for. We walked up the small woodland path to find tens of thousands of daffodils in full bloom beneath the canopies of mature maple trees. It was magical to say the least, and it was a good reminder for us that no matter how busy we are with work and life, we should always try to take a moment to to stop and smell the roses, or in this case, the daffodils! If you have a chance to take a quick one hour drive out of Boston this week it is definitely worth the effort, and don’t forget to make a $2 donation towards keeping this amazing seasonal display replenished! Happy spring everyone!
