MCLD Seeks Director of Finance and Operations
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND OPERATIONS:
National-award-winning luxury landscape architecture firm (Matthew Cunningham Landscape Design LLC) in Stoneham, MA seeks an energetic, responsive, and mature Director of Finance and Operations to work closely on its talented 10-person team to maintain client and accounting records in accordance with industry practices and generally accepted accounting principles. Approximately 24–32 hours per week with flexible hours, perhaps full time for the right person. Positive attitude and helpful personality are a must. Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
QUALIFICATIONS/TASKS:
Position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or other business-related area, or 5 years minimum experience handling all aspects of accounting and operations in a similar position.
Candidates must possess general business management experience and understand project profitability management. Marketing and publicity experience are also helpful.
Strong computer skills are essential, with a preference for Mac users. Applicants should understand how to navigate around and store data in logical sequences, be at ease with learning new software, including desktop and cloud versions of Microsoft, ADP, Freshbooks, and Account Edge (or similar business accounting systems).
Excellent communications skills, both written and oral, that minimize risk are essential. Must be able to preserve and cultivate relationships between clients and professional staff.
Process billing and perform accounts receivable duties to ensure prompt and accurate payment. Prepare multi-phased fiscal reports for internal use. Set-up and close-out project files.
Direct accounts payable activities, monthly bank reconciliation, collections duties, application of customer payments, and documentation of multi-phased budget details for clients and staff.
Interact daily with Principal, professional staff, and consultants.
Manage internal budgets/expense forecasting, manage profit/loss reports, balance sheets, and overall fiscal management.
Manage and process all quarterly and annual tax filings in an accurate and timely fashion in accordance with operating procedures, federal/state withholding requirements, etc.
