If you have an opportunity to pick up the current issue of New England Home magazine, take a look at the beautiful story about our Brattle Street Garden by Kyle Hoepner and Megan Fulweiler, featuring photos by Laura Moss and yours truly! The piece captures the essence of our design collaboration with architect Adolfo Perez and interior designer Manuel de Santaren. The landscape, built by Martin Lucyk Landscape Construction, boasts custom-designed, minimalist-inspired elements that complement the home’s exquisite craftsmanship, by S+H Construction. MCLD thanks all of it’s partners and collaborators who helped make this property shine, and most importantly, we thank our clients, whose elevated tastes pushed us each to craft spaces that fully reflect your exceptional sense of style. Last but not least, thank you NEH for the press!
We may be bracing ourselves for a huge snowstorm this coming week, but MCLD started spring 2017 off with a big bang this past Thursday night! More than two years ago when we began the exhausting search for our new office space, hosting parties like this was only a dream… So, when the opportunity to hold our first networking event at our studio with New England Home Magazine presented itself, we jumped! We also flew into an immediate frenzy to put art up on the walls. 🙂
The night was a huge success! Botanical artist Marc Hall created the most spectacular custom arrangements and the air was perfumed with the sweet scent of Jasmine and Narcissus. One of our favorite landscape lighting consultants, Dave Balkema of Shadows and Light, spent hours placing and wiring whimsical paper lanterns that created an incredible soft glow throughout the space all night long. Delicious food and cocktails prepared by Revolution Catering were an enormous highlight of the night. Their charcuterie table was beautiful, and I dare say everyone at the party could have made a meal out of their incredible variety of tasty seasonal hors d’oeuvres.
A silent auction was held for for an amazing piece of custom art created in a joint collaboration between the owners of Loki Furniture, Jamie Cumming and Elizabeth Mearkle Cumming. The proceeds of the winning bid will support the Natural Resource Support Council, a non-profit organization devoted to fighting climate change and safeguarding the earth – its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends.
It means so much to have seen so many familiar and new faces, and we are thrilled that more than 100 people dropped by to enjoy the night. Thank you New England Home for your wonderful support, and thank you team-MCLD for helping to coordinate such a fun evening!

In all seriousness, we are grateful to New England Home for featuring our Waban Hillside Residence in a lovely piece written by Debra Judge Silber, and produced by Kyle Hoepner. In spring of 2014 when our clients reached out to us about their project with Paul MacNeely and Tim Stewart of Eck MacNeely Architects, we jumped at the opportunity to create a lush, garden-focused home on the sloping hillside site in Newton. As the project quickly evolved, it was evident we had the ultimate dream-team of professionals, from Jennifer Palumbo Interiors, Wellen Construction, and last but in no way least, Paragon Landscape Construction.
Thank you Greg Premru for your beautiful photographs, and congrats to everyone involved in the project. When and where is our next one?!
CONGRATULATIONS to the 2016 New England Home Hall of Fame Inductees! This year’s group of Hall of Fame members is literally overflowing with amazing talent, and MCLD is very proud to be a first time sponsor of the 10th annual gala along with a terrific group of businesses! A very special congrats goes to our collaborators at both Woodmeister Master Builders and Kenneth Vona Construction for having the leadership of your firms included in the recognition! We look forward to sponsoring next year’s program—buy your tickets early!
