MCLD Hosts New England Home Spring Event
We may be bracing ourselves for a huge snowstorm this coming week, but MCLD started spring 2017 off with a big bang this past Thursday night! More than two years ago when we began the exhausting search for our new office space, hosting parties like this was only a dream… So, when the opportunity to hold our first networking event at our studio with New England Home Magazine presented itself, we jumped! We also flew into an immediate frenzy to put art up on the walls. 🙂
The night was a huge success! Botanical artist Marc Hall created the most spectacular custom arrangements and the air was perfumed with the sweet scent of Jasmine and Narcissus. One of our favorite landscape lighting consultants, Dave Balkema of Shadows and Light, spent hours placing and wiring whimsical paper lanterns that created an incredible soft glow throughout the space all night long. Delicious food and cocktails prepared by Revolution Catering were an enormous highlight of the night. Their charcuterie table was beautiful, and I dare say everyone at the party could have made a meal out of their incredible variety of tasty seasonal hors d’oeuvres.
A silent auction was held for for an amazing piece of custom art created in a joint collaboration between the owners of Loki Furniture, Jamie Cumming and Elizabeth Mearkle Cumming. The proceeds of the winning bid will support the Natural Resource Support Council, a non-profit organization devoted to fighting climate change and safeguarding the earth – its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends.
It means so much to have seen so many familiar and new faces, and we are thrilled that more than 100 people dropped by to enjoy the night. Thank you New England Home for your wonderful support, and thank you team-MCLD for helping to coordinate such a fun evening!
