An urban family’s secluded get-a-way nestles beneath the canopies of massive, mature pines on the edge of New Hampshire’s pristine Squam Lake. Locally reclaimed slabs of granite are used to create a terrace and fire pit that overlook the carefully preserved waterfront buffer zone. Deer-resistant native plants smother newly-graded landforms, and a family heirloom is born.
