OYSTER POND FARMHOUSE
CHATHAM, MASSACHUSETTS
A classic 19th century farmhouse stands faithful watch above Chatham’s historic Oyster Pond on one of Cape Cod’s most picturesque promontories. The newly expanded home combines architectural expressions from three separate centuries into one—the landscape actively weaves past, present, and future into immersive outdoor experiences throughout the property. Terraces, walkways, and staircases built from a mixture of durable granites with hand-hammered patinas lend immediate history and character to each space. Amenities such as a pool, spa, and outdoor shower provide memorable and functional moments for folks to connect to the land. Robust colonies of salt-tolerant plants reinforce important spatial experiences, as dramatic blankets of dense fog envelope the parcel all year long.
