REIMAGINED REMNANT

LITTLE COMPTON, RHODE ISLAND

Situated within the windswept pastures and crisscrossing stone walls of Little Compton, Rhode Island, an eighteenth-century farmstead begins a new chapter of its history when purchased by a new family. A deep respect for this iconic corner of the American landscape guided the design process, resulting in a strategy of light touches in deference to locally-sourced materials, native plants, and vernacular landscape forms. The team protected, reconstructed, and enhanced existing elements of the site, while a pool, outdoor entertaining spaces, and updated circulation reflect twenty-first century patterns of life. The result is pure Little Compton: a timeless property reinvigorated, sure to be passed down through the generations.
