CHRIS RAMAGE
Associate
Chris Ramage grew up in Northern Virginia, where he spent summers exploring the flora and fauna lining the red clay of his town’s creek beds. Chris witnessed the unintended consequences of the area’s rapid suburban and urban development as the creeks filled with refuse, oil slicks, and algae blooms, making the water uninhabitable for the tadpoles and crawfish in his memories. This formative experience compelled Chris to pursue a career driving ecologically sensitive human settlements, culminating in a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts in 2021.
As an undergraduate, Chris received a Bachelor in Plant Science and Plant Pathology from the University of Delaware. After graduating, Chris spent several years working in the nursery and residential landscape design industries before going back to school for his master’s degree. Chris applied his extensive background in horticulture and the natural sciences to his studies and was an integral contributor to multiple award-winning designs recognized by both the Philadelphia Center for Architecture and Design and by Mass Inc.
Chris’s design interests are wide ranging but always gravitate towards a balance of human use, ecological function, and beauty. He draws inspiration from the diversity of the characteristic plant communities, geologic formations, independent farms, and small towns of New England. In his free time, Chris likes to work in his vegetable garden, hike in the White Mountains, fish for trout, and spend time with family.
