Lucy joined MCLD in 2024, bringing a unique perspective shaped by her background in furniture and lighting design. Originally from California, she fell in love with the beauty of New England and hasn’t looked back.

Lucy holds a Master in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where she was awarded a Dean’s Merit Scholarship and proceeded to graduate with distinction. Her exemplary thesis on optimism in the built environment earned both the Landscape Architecture Thesis Prize and the Jacob Weidenmann Prize.

Prior to her studies at Harvard, Lucy earned her degree in furniture and lighting design from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she graduated with honors and received an Academic Excellence Award. She brings to MCLD a deep understanding of materials and fabrication processes.

Before joining our studio, Lucy contributed to a variety of mixed-use, institutional, and public-space projects while working at world-renowned Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Outside the studio, Lucy’s love for the outdoors finds expression in climbing, skiing, and biking. A retired competition climber with over 20 years in the sport, she now enjoys exploring New England’s natural landscapes and hopes to earn her local status someday.
