Remington’s path into landscape architecture stems from his interest in sculpture design and urban policy as well as by his experiences working in the agricultural sector in New England. He is continuously inspired by the socio-ecological connections that exist within the urban landscape and aims to develop a more thorough understanding of the intersectionality of urban ecology, spatial design, and socio-environmental policy.
As a student in the Master of Landscape Architecture program at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Remington’s research primarily examined urban agriculture and the integration of allotment gardens into the urban fabric. Remington plays in several old-time/bluegrass music groups in Maine and is often in the studio working on various craft projects or exploring the region’s forests and coastline.
